ADF called me in June when I was at my whits end with the credit card debt I was in (I handed over 4 credit cards to them). They told me that within two years, after joining the Debt Settlement program my bills would be paid off. I signed up with ADF.
I called my creditors to let them know that I had handed over my accounts to ADF. I did not hear from my creditors for a couple of months and then the letters started coming in from the Law Offices that my credit card companies hired to try and get the money from me that was owed to them.
I e-mailed and faxed all of the documents to ADF like I was supposed to. I was told "Don't worry", "this happens all the time", "they are just trying to scare you" and my overall favorite "we deal with these places ALL the time, they will settle".
After a while my husband and I started getting served with Court papers. Three out of the four credit card companies where filing Law Suits against us. I called the Law Offices and they had no record of ADF ever contacting them and they did not have any Cease and Disist orders from ADF either.
I contacted ADF to verify that the Cease and Disist orders were sent to my creditors. I received PDF's of the Cease and Disist orders with ADF's default name "Alan Trumble" in the papers. I then told ADF that I needed the correct documents and a confirmation that my creditors received the papers - I received the papers, however, I did not receive anything showing me 100% the documents were sent.
During this time I found out that one of my creditors who was now suing me called ADF about a month earlier telling them that they would not settle for anything other than 100%. I received no letter from ADF about this communication. At this time I had gone through 6 contacts and was not getting phone calls returned or e-mails.
I filed a complaint with the BBB. ADF sent a rebuttal in regards to the complaint. The rebuttal had nothing to do with me or any of my accounts. I have since terminated my agreement with ADF and asked for a full refund of my retainer fee as well as the monthly service charges they take for their services.
I had to call three times a week for three weeks in order to get an answer. The answer I received was "No refund is owed back to you based on the contract you signed". I have decided to let it go and to not contact ADF anymore (I was getting too upset and frustrated).
At this time I have sent back a rebuttal to the rebuttal made by ADF in regards to the orignal BBB complaint I made. I have put in a complaint with the AG Office in Florida. I have put in a complaint with the FTC.
I would love for these people to be put out of business. They are praying on people who really need help and taking full advantage of them.
