Green Tree are constantly haressing people with phone calls and threats. I have had my place financed with them for 11 years and I think that I have had 2 payments that went over 30 days with them over wise they are paid within the 30 days. The will call you daily wanting the payment even when you tell them when you are going to make this payment. If you set up a payment with them on the phone you will be charged a 10.00 fee for making a phone or internet payment.
I have made my payment and a week later it would be approx. 5-6 days after my next due date and they start calling. I have been threatened by them constantly about foreclosure. I had one rep that was very rude and even though I do not want to lose my place I told her that I was sick of all of the harassment so if she the place that bad come and get it. She had the nerve to tell me how sorry I was and that she would come and get it.
When she called she wanted to know why I had not made my payment yet and I explained it to her and told her when I would be making it. She said that she was sick of my excuses and she would start the paperwork for forclosure. I tried 3 times to call here back to make this payment with her especially so that she would know that it had been paid and she would never answer her phone nor would she return the call after I left her 3 messages concerning what I was calling about and that I was wanting to make my payment with her. I called the main office and requested that she never call me again.
There has got to be some kind of law concerning all of the constant and threatning phone calls. I do not know what it is but I am sick of it myself. Sometimes I think about really not making my payment and letting them have my house back because of the fact that I am so sick of all of their threats.
I do not want to lose my home but sometimes you just get to the end of your rope. My husband is the only one that works here in my household. I have worked up until 3 years ago and due to an illness I am not able to work anymore but I do resist the idea of filing for disability. It is hard to give up and face the facts of what life hands you and to know that you are not able to work but as long as I am making my payments with them and they are not 30 days late What is the problem???
