First Consumer National Bank
Ripoff mistreated and ripped off

First Consumers National Bank is a rip off. I opened a secured credit card account with them to establish some credit. This was my first credit card account ever.

I sent them $300 dollars for a security deposit. The in retunr gave me a additional $150 credit increase make my line of credit $450.00 and that was to be my limit. I sent my payments in every month (more than was required) like clockwork for 8 months. One time a payment was late due to the mail being slow and they charged me a late fee of 35.00 and reduced my Credit limit by $50.00. (payment was only 6 days late)

I called and spoke with Customer Service several time and was hung up on. Finally someone said that they would put a request in with the credit department to have my credit limit raised back to the $450.00. Three days later a nice letter came stating:

We regret to inform you that we are unable to grant your request at this time because you asked FCNB to increase you credit limit without requiring an additional deposit. FCNB has ceased increasing credit limits on Secured accounts unless customers make a deposit to their FCNB Security Deposit Account that is equal to the amount of the credit limit increase. How ever you are welcome to continue sending in additional deposits to increase the credit limit on your FCNB account.

I called after recieving this letter and was hung up on. I was told to call back when I have a real problem.

Can some one help?
