I had a good secured account (I thought), with FCNB for 2 years. I had it secured with $250.00.
I was never late and always paid over what was asked.in April I gave them another $275.00 to have a secured line of $525.00.
This year, I had an available credit amount and sent in a payment like usual. Next I receive a statement that my payment was a day late and I am charged a 35.00 late fee.
I knew my payment should have arrived early and they obviously posted it late. The 35.00 fee put me over my limit and again, I was charged a 35.00 over the limit fee!
They said I was a good customer and would reverse the late fee which would inturn reverse the over the limit fee. They at least needed a $50.00 payment from me first and then my next statement would show corrections. I did a check by phone.
I never got credit for anything so I wanted to close my account and let them keep what they needed out of my $525.00 that I owed and refund the rest to me.
They said, ma'm your account is going to be closed by us anyways, everyone's is closed! What?! And then he and she (who were so rude. I called twice), said my account was not secured for 525.00!
I have a statement right here which says a limit line of 525.00. Anyhow, someway somehow I am currently owing a balance of 274.00!
No one will do a thing and I've been treated horribly! Their reps have raised their voice at me when I asked why these fees were not reversed as promised when I know it shouldn't have happened to me in the first place!
It's funny how a company can change their policies, lie to a consumer, never send notification of a thing and flat out steal my money!
I am currently sending $15-20.00 a month to pay off something I never did only because I am protecting my credit report! At $15.00 a month for 20 months to pay something I shouldn't! This is fraud! They should actually owe me! God knows what they're doing to people's reports if they could do this!
