Around the first of February, I received a letter from RESURGENT cAPITAL SERVICES, in the mail. I tried to contact RESURGENT to find out what the letter was about. They only told me I owed Traditional Industries/NATCO Industries $1942.59. They were also, only interested in having me sign up for a Visa to pay off this debt.
I informed them that I didn't want a credit card that had a 19.9% interest rate.
After several months of trying to find out about this debt, I recieve a phone call from another "Debt collector". Capital Mangement Servies told me that they would settle for $300. I told them that I have no idea what Traditional Industries/NATCO Industries sells much less who they are. Over the next couple of months, I had to deal with Capital Mangment to dispute this "debt". They finally gave me an address to dispute this "debt." Over three months I sent them three copies of the same dispute letter to a POBOX in South Carolina. All I found out about the "debt" is that the "debt" was suppose to of began in Sept. 1990.
In this letter, I informed Capital Mangment Services that:
1. At that time I was in the U.S. Army in Germany.
2. I didn't incure a debt of anything, I didn't need to.
3. I attempted to find Taditional Industries/NATCO Industries on the internet. I discovered that there are about 1000 companies by that name.
4. I asked them "If I have been using my social security number since then. It is not like I was hard to find.
5. I check my credit report about every other month. Traditional Industries/NATCO Industries was never on it.
The last of June, I finally received a letter from Capital Mangment Service. They added $52 to the "debt." When I contacted them to see what became of my dispute, they informed me that I have to provied proof that I don't owe this "debt." They also suggested that the "debt" was a loan. WHY WOULD I NEED A LOAN, WHEN I DIDN'T NEED TO PAY FOR ROOM AND BOARD.
They, also told me that they don't investagate disputes. They said that all they did was transfered my "debt" to their office in Buffalo, NY.
They will not show me proof that i owe this "debt."
