Company will not abide to 30 day return policy they claim to cancel membership Simi Valley California

I joined SMC with the 30 return policy if I did not like the product or service. I was told I would have a business coach to help me right away, and get things started.

About 5 days before my 30 days were up, and after phoning for coach appointments at least 5-6 times, only to have them not stick to the appointment, I called to get information about cancelling. At that point I was immediately connected to a business coach, and was told in depth more about the company and how it works for the business owner.

After thinking about it overnight, I concluded it was not what I wanted. I called to cancel again and was given the cancellation phone number with return directions. I listened to this recording about 6 times, because the details and addresses to the places you had to send different things were very confusing and I didn't want to miss anything. I was directed to send the kit back to one place, with an attention to membership cancellation and to get a receipt for the postage to send with a letter of cancellation to a different address.

It was stated that they 'recommend' insuring the kit for $100, but I did not insure it. But I did get a wriiten receipt from the lady that put postage on the kit, dated and stamped with the post office date marker. I mailed it on May 30, exactly 29 days after signing up on May 1.

On June 28 I receive a letter back from SMC, with my postage receipt and letter, and the envelope I sent letter and receipt in. It said the receipt was invalid because they do not accept hand written receipts.
I called the number given in the letter (877-523-9088) and waited 24 minutes for "the next" customer service representative to take my call.

I told the CR what the situation was, she asked me if I had a tracking number, I told her no, because it was not required. She stated it was, and I told her I listened to that recording again that same day, and no it did not. She said she had it in writing in front of her, so I asked her where it stated that, and she stated the part about recommending the insurance, and I rebutted that a recommendation is not a requirement, and she agreed.

Then I disputed the handwriiten receipt, versus the computer generated receipt she stated I needed, because this is not stated in the return phone call process either. She then told me I would have to wait for the kit to be 'logged in' at the warehouse then when they get that information, they will process the credits. I asked her how long that would be, and she said she was not sure because it is not a high priority at the warehouse. I asked her if the warehouse is receiving mail, how hard is it to log it in on a timely basis? I needed more accurate information. She put me on hold to find more information.

The CR came back to tell me that the warehouse does not log in the kits, they do not do anything when they receive them to show they were received, but if I had a tracking number the corporate office would use that as proof of return. I told her I sent it first class mail, they don't have tracking numbers for that. She said to call the post office, because everyone else she talked to has come up with a tracking number, which I knew was a lie, because she wouldn't know if everyone would have been positively processed. But I checked with the postal station I went to and the post office information line, who both told me that there is no way to track first class postage.

I have cancelled the credit card that they have been charging monthly payments to and now have a membership to this company who has my money, will want me to complete this contract, and their warehouse has my kit lying around in it somewhere. I am looking for a resolution to this matter.
