My fiance and I worked through Hess Kennedy and Debt settlement of america in order to take care of some debts that he had accrued. They offered him payments of $181 a month in order to take care of his debts and had promised that he wouldn't receive any creditor calls or any complications as a result of this. They also claimed that the first payment went towards paying the lawyer and the rest would go towards lowering his payments and taking care of his debts. He was first told it would be a consolidation, then was told it would be a debt settlement. Either way nothing was ever done. During the six months that we had been working through Hess kennedy they were impossible to get a hold of and said they would have someone call us back and never did. We were taken to court twice during that time and none of the people we owed money to had even heard of Hess Kennedy, so obviously nothing was being done. When we tried to call them about that they would never respond and had the worst customer service I have ever heard of in my life. We finally got sick of paying them and having nothing done so we cancelled our account with them and then faxed in a written letter saying why we were cancelling. We were told that after we did this that we would be receiving a refund of all of the money we had paid within 60 days. We waited and waited and waited and nothing ever came. We sent them numerous letters and faxes to try to get the refund but no one would work with us. We have eventually given up and they have kept over $1000 dollars that never went to anything they told us it would. Hess Kennedy is a completely fraudulent company and we were upset. We still have the contract and it says that if you cancel they will never request for payment for the lawyers work. But then later when we talked to them they told us that the payments we paid went towards the lawyer and requested for us to pay them an additional $1200 dollars. We haven't paid it and everytime we call them we get a different answer. I wish someone would help us bring Hess Kennedy to justice.
