GE Capital Cons Cardco has been ripping me off for the past few months now. It all started when I recently moved. I made sure to call the company after my move and gave them a notice of address change, so as not to disrupt my normal payments.
Somebody in their office messed up with updating my address. I had even had them repeat my new address just to make sure they wouldn't mess up, but they did.
About a month after changing my address with them I received a call from their collections agency asking me to make a payment over the phone.
I inquired about why I had not received a billing statement, and was notified that they had been given a false address and that the bill was sent back to them "Undeliverable." Since then I have been aquiring late fees and finance charges.
I have been doing my best to make my payments on time if not early, and now I have to pay late fees because of their mistake.
Just recently I mailed in a payment of over a hundred dollars. The due date on this payment was 8/14, and they received it on 7/31, thus proving my point.
Today is 8/17 and I just received another call not three days after my last billing was due.
The collections department was harrasing me for their next payment, Which is not due until 9/14. WTF?
They wanted me to pay the bill imediatly with a check by phone. I told them there was no way I was going to pay them over the phone, and that i would send the payment by mail.
She made it seem as if I have to pay it now or receive another late fee, and I haven't even received my next statement yet.
I don't know about the rest of you reading this, but my life does not revolve around bill collectors. If they want me to pay then they can send me a bill and I will pay it when it is due, not a month ahead of time.
