Claiming They Have not received payoff check - interest accruing every day

I have had automatic bill pay for Triad Financial through Bank of America for 2 years. I am not paying off my car and made my first large payment of $4000. For the first time in 2 years, Triad is claiming that they have not received the check from BofA and I am being charged $6 interest every day until I get this resolved.
