I got a call on saturday Aug. 10 from a man with a foreign accent saying I had "qualified" for an interest free mastercard.
He said I had previously applied and now a certain time has passed and now I qualify. I told him I didnt apply nor want one. He said maybe I applied by phone or on the internet. I said no I didnt.
He continued on saying this card would help my credit. I repeated I didnt want one. He insisted that with the $2,500.00 line of credit with no interst this was the card I needed.
It came with a $1,000.00 in travel discounts that were mine to keep if I decided I didnt want the card after the 7 day trial. It was a $29.00 shipping fee for the "Welcome Package" that he would deduct from my checking account on the phone.
I said no I don't give that information over the phone. Hewas SO insistant that it was "safe". I said NO. Whats your number and I will call you back after I talk to my "husband". He said "Oh he will be happy with it I assure you, I can post date the "check" for 3 days."
I said no again. Just never mind. He was mad. Then yesterday after I checked out the company online and saw what a rip off they ARE. He called back. (No name but the voice was the same) I let him get so far into his speech and stopped him.
I said I checked the company out and saw over 120 compplaints against them that they are frauds and rip offs. He got very mad and said it was all lies. I said it was on the BBB site too. He says They have been "members" with them for 5 years it was all "untrue" they are a good company. He actually asked me if I beleived everything I read!!! I said YES I DO when its on the BBB site.
He then tried his pursuit again to get my account #. I told him NO I DID NOT want their card, that I contacted the FBI etc and he was STILL trying to get me to agree to take the card until my fiance took th ephone and screamed at him to NEVER call our # again.!!
I think this Company should be SHUT DOWN! NEVER NEVER give any information concerning your money over the NET or by phone. I have NO IDEA how he got my cell phone number he would not say. He insists that I applied for something and I did not.
My phone is a cell phone listed in my fiances name. What did they do buy a mailing list from somewhere? There are only a few people who even know my cell # and its all family and close friends, only 3 or 4 business' I do busines with have it. (My bills) so HOW this guy got it is beyond me!!!
