I received a phone call from a company calling themselves Global Solutions. They started out by saying they wanted to complete my application for the Master Card I applied for and just needed to verify some information.
The conversation was this:
GS rep: Ms McD...
ME: Yes?
GS rep: I am call for Global Soulutions and we are completing your application for the Mastercard you applied for and I just need to verify some information so we can get that out to you...
ME: Excuse me... What Master Card? I haven't applied for a mastercard.
GS rep: Yes ma'am. You applied for a Mastercard on the internet and was turned down, because your credit rating wasn't high enough on the inital review. We have since reviewed you credit history and would like to go ahead and issue you the card. I just need...
ME: Wait a minute. What bank is this Mastercard?
GS rep: What do you mean what bank?
Me: What bank will be issuing this card?
GS rep: It's a Mastercard ma'am. We want to offer you a credit card because you were turned down, and we beleive you deserve a chance to rebuild your credit. I just...
ME: Look I didn't apply for any credit card because I can't. You see I have all my credit cards in debit consolidation. I would be violating my agreement by ordering a new credit card. What is your name and where is your company located.
GS rep: Oh, your in debit consolidation. Ok. I'm sorry, ma'am. Thank you for your time.

This sound more or less like the line thay used on the Global Financal scam. Only they had stated that it was a pre paid card up front and they didn't insinuate that I had applied for a credit card.
