In checking my credit reports I discovered a $755 AT&T account gone into collection (with Calvary) on experian and equifax. The name used was not mine, however the address was - and it seems the individual used my social security number to acquire the AT&T account.
I disputed the charge and equifax removed it. Experian refuses to do so. I have contacted AT&T and am attempting to work my way through the red tape of Calvary to get this off my credit report. I've an excellent credit score. Experian wants a police report, among a myriad of other things, and the police department is none to happy about having to deal with this.
Why is it I am guilty until proving myself innocent? Calvary is giving me nothing but a run around to get this corrected.
I want to file an official government complaint and am investigating to whom I should direct my problem. All I want is this incorrect collection off my credit report.
