About 2 weeks ago my husband got a call from capital first. They were offering a mastercard with the limit of $2500. They also offered coupons for cars, motels, vision, dental, and pet insurance. They said we could cancel withen 7 days and we would not be charged the 459.95 for processing fee and a low annual membership fee of $99.95.
If we wished to cancel we should call constumer service at 1-866-892-6018. Well we received the package in the mail and decieded we were not interested. So we called that number and they said that there was high phone volume and that they needed our name and number and they would call us back. Well we waited all day for them to call us back. Then they finallcalled us back on a friday. We told them we wanted to cancel.
They told us alright and it will not be taken from your account. Well we found out today that there was no money in our checking account. The bank told us that first capital withdrew all of our money. They took $300 out of my account without my authorization. I tried to call them again.
I got through to a phone representative they said high vollume and that they would call back. Well I am so mad I look for a website so I could e-mail them a nasty letter but couldn, t do that either because no e-mail address just a bunch of bull. So I looked up capital first on yahoo. Then to my surprise there was an article about ripp-off capitalfirst.
I was so shocked, I thought I would ever get scammed. I just thought that happened to other people. I was wrong and I will never trust anyone on the phone again. I will be closing my checking account tommorrow. I just hope everyone is careful and not to trust anybody.
