Store Accounting Support Paid wrong amount on savings bond in May '06 & took $66.64 out of checking in 7

Since I am dealing with Wells Fargo on another issue I thought I'd add this one as well so others can be prepared!

I cashed a Savings Bond at Wells Fargo in Lynden, WA. On May 22 and got full face value. I did not compute the rate, the bank teller did. On July 6 I received a letter from Wells Fargo in Arizona stating that they had calculated the bond incorrectly and they had ALREADY debited $66.64 from my checking account to correct this little problem.

I had no warning that this was coming out of my account & had to figure out how to pay my bills with this sudden debit. Wells Fargo is an unfair bank and just doesn't care about its customers at all. A phone call to warn me would have been nice since I did have checks outstanding.
