I see all of your posting regarding CBCS, I have filed two lawsuits in small claims court here in Columbus today over two bills, I actually have a few more to do.
One was a Florida power & Light bill that I paid and they refused to update, eventhough I provided them with the receipt, I had originally disputed that bill thru certified letter and requested proof and communications via mail only back in april...
No response, I have the receipt.
Another was a bellsouth bill, that i had disputed thru the bureaus and they said remains. The collector even though it was for an address that I never had and for a different person, it belonged to me... How frigging stupid is that.
Another was for a comcast bill that was discharged in bankruptcy 4 years ago, that they tried to collect on.
Now I can add the rest of what I want to say, they are rude, stupid, cant read, cant speak, and one IQ level short of an idiot nature.
As far as the suits being filed, I did get some good news on friday, The Ohio Supreme court ruled, i beleive that harassment, embarassment on top of any money damages can be demanded as punitive damages from collection agencies that engage in illegal practices
In addition, I spoke with the attorney generals office, and they provided me with a book on their website concerning the Ohio Consumer Sales Protection act. They fall under that jurisidiction.
Ordinarily, you cant file for damages in small claims court, but this act is specifically overrides those restrictions, in addition you can ask for treble damages... I did.
Whoever is right, let them explain to the judge and let them decide.
They are so shady, their corporation was buried under two more to get to he actual registered agent to be served.
