In April of this year, we purchased a home in Joplin, MO. It was mortgaged through American Home Mortgage. Last month, we received a letter that they had sold the second mortgage to Ocwen and to start making our payments there within 60 days. We started receiving phone calls on our cell phone which was our only phone before we moved into our house. The phone numbers to call back had no area code and they did not identify themselves. We finally talked to a person and they told us they were with Ocwen and needed more information. We gave them our home phone #. We then started getting calls at home. They refused to speak to my wife even though she is on the loan. She told them to stop calling this number if they wouldn't speak to her.
They have now called another 5 or 6 times treating us like deadbeats and we have not missed a payment and our next payment is not due until the first. I have read many of the reports on usacomplaints.com and am terrified of the place we now find ourselves, owing this monster of a company. I am afraid we will be forced to sell our new home to get out from under them even though we love it, or be subject to losing it even when we have made our payments on time.
