We like the other lady bought this manufactored home 9 years ago. It's been through several hurricanes and is falling down but we are still paying for it. I was out of work for 4 months due to being hit by a car and have 6 kids.
My husband works 7 days a week trying to catch the mortgage up that we got behind. We are one payment back and another one is due. We pay them even though a little late every month. Our payments are due on the 20th of the month. Well they start calling at the first of the month. They call and degrade you and ask you all kind of stupid questions, like do you pay the phone bill? Do you eat? Just stupid stuff.
They call and threaten my children, my mother, and they have even called my neighbors and told them they need to come talk to us and tell us to make our payments. They called here today and said he is sending a women to come and put a lock on the house that we are being evicted. Well I don't know how they do it where they are from, but, here they have to go through the courts and it takes at least 60 days after that to evict.
When they called today they told my babysitter how much we owe, when the last payment we made, and how much my payments are. Well I don't know about anyone else but that is my personal information that this (Ernie) is handing out. Which I know is against the law. I even gave them a check on the phone once and told them not to run it till friday, which was 3 days away, guess what? Yep, they ran it anyway that check cost me alot of money (into the hundreds) to catch up.
This account is in my name not my husbands. They asked him for a check once and he advised them that was my account not his and he could not authorize it. Yep, you guessed it they ran it anyway. I would almost pay a double mortgage to get rid of this company. My neighbors, references, employers are as tired of them as we are.
I don't know how they think we will pay if they keep calling our jobs. I know we will get fired over it. If anyone can help at all, please let me know.
