A surprise? I think not. The best is only one month late on a credit card. You call the company to work out a payment arrangement and cancel the card. They say no, it isn't possible to do that until the card is completly paid off in full, then you can cancel.
You state that you cannot afford to continue getting hit with late fees and over the limit fees. Your husband is ill and is having major surgery, you wont't be able to work fulltime so that you can stay home to care for him and your three minor children.
They basically say oh well to bad! So each month more fees. $29.00 late and $29.00 over the limit. I am curious how it is legal to charge so high fees to begin with. Anyway, the card only had a $400.00 limit.
Well now with all the fees tacked on the bill is over $1300.00! And yet, after a multitude of attempts they still WILL NOT work out payment arrangements with me. I am on workmens comp. And my husband is on disablity. So there for our money is very limited.
I was served with court papers for a wage garnishment dated FOR August 27. Well on July 27 they went into my bank account and drained the entire thing!!!
The whole thing!!! I am thinking this is just great!!! My mortgage money is now gone! Everything is bouncing! I am getting slammed with over the limit fees from everywhere!!! Who is going to pay all these fee??? I guess that will be me!!!
The best is, on the court paper it says in nice big words that they are not allowed to garnish, workmens compensation, ssi, disablity, welfare and so on and so forth!!!
So might I ask how are they legally allowed to do this. NO ONE HAS AN ANSWER! Laws should be passed about charging such high fees for one. And two, I think it's nice of a company of such stature to be completely inhumane and not even try to help someone willing to make an effort on the payments.
Would it be that hard to make a payment plan on a lousy $400.00??? Of course it is, so they can legally rape people with their insane fees! Keep racking them up boys, we'll eventually get a dime out of them!
It shouldn't be CAPITOL ONE, it should be CAPITOL FRAUD!!! I hope everyone out there reads this and stays far away from them, because if you don't and you ever become in a binding situation, they aren't going to help you out in the least!
