When I recieved a letter stating that I owed almost &1000 in back debts. I got sick to my stomach. I have done nothing in the past 25 years, but pay bills on time and even a head of time.
Merchants Credit said I owed money from a previous credit card, Citibank!!! I recall having a Citibank card when I was about 18, which again, was about 25 years ago.
I phoned Citibank and of course I am free and clear with them as far as any outstanding debt is concerned, in fact they tried to get me to open and account w / them again..
It worries me that companies like this can scam good everyday people out of their hard earned money. With lies and fraud. All of our complaints, do they actually go anywhere or do anything to change these issues.
I now am waiting to see if my credit report is going to be damaged from this. They had info on me that I didnt even remember. It makes you realize how easy it is for someone or some company to ruin your idenity and life with in minutes.
If anyone has any ideas on how to really stop this company please let me know.
