First Revenue Assurance
Ripoff, ruse, dishonest, thiefs Denver Colorado

I had recieved a phone call from TRACEY BROOKS @ First Revenue Assurance. She had stated on the voice mail that it would be in my best interest to call her before 5:00 P.M. Cst. I had called her and she had told me that I owed Cingular Wireless money, and if I didn't pay her the money that she would mess with my credit. So I told her that I had been talking with Cingular about the issue and had already made payment arrangements with them. I finally hung up the phone when she continued to make harassing remarks about messing with my credit. I then talked to my mom about it and she had pointed out a Federal Law - Fair Debt Collection Practices Act 15 U.S.C. 1962.

The day after my mom had givin me that information I had called Tracey Brooks and told her that I will not give them any money till I got a letter in the mail verifying who they are and that they are not a SCAM ARTIST, ACCOUNT HACKERS, or THIEFS. Tracey Brooks then told me that the letter was mailed on July 4 which there is no mail delivery on that date due to being a Federal Holiday. She started to get rather rude with me and I tried to tell her that I would not have any dealings with that company till I had recieved the letter and she then decided to call me a "PIECE OF S*T."

After she called me that she hung up the phone and I called back and told the lady that had answered the phone that I wanted to speak with Tracey Brooks' immediate supervisor. Her immediate supervisor then answered the phone and I had stated to her that By FEDERAL LAW they can't call the person till the piece of mail had been recieved. I told her that I had not recieved a COLLECTION NOTICE and that I will not deal with them. She then said do you want to pay by check or money order. And then I told her about the Federal Law - Fair Debt Collection Practices Act 15 U.S.C. 1962. She then asked again if I wanted to pay by check or credit card, and I told her that by law she has to send me the notice in the mail. Then she refused to mail me the verification of debt, and told me that the COLLECTION NOTICE was mailed July 3. Then I told her again that I will not give her any information and will not give mer my credit card number or my checking account number due to them possibly being scam artists. She then told me that she "... Doesn't care about Federal Laws and do you want to pay by credit card or check." I then hung up the phone on them and called Cingular Wireless and they said they will send it to the legal department because First Revenue Assurance had broken many laws in the collection of debt.

I recieved a notice from them 2 days after all the phone calls. The letter is dated July 8. So they have given 3 different dates, cussed and called me names, threatened me with reporting to the credit reporting agencies (prior to when they legally allowed to) and was in general, exceptionally rude. They are also trying to charge me their 18% fee on top of the actual bill which the law says they cannot do. When told they would be reported to the Attorney General's Office in Illinois and Colorado plus the Federal Trade Commission, the person stated, "I don't care." Seems to me they should.
