Complaint / Review
Bank Of America
Ripoff

I am responding to Lori's original complaint. The important thing to remember is that she was using tha $499 balance and $500 check as an example. We have no facts about what is really going on.

I am a former Fleet Bank customer before it was sold to BOA. When that happened I did not understand, or was notified of BOA's fees and policies. Perhaps it would be a good policy if BOA sends out a ducument to their customers stating that they have read and understood their fees and policies.

Because I did not approve of the policies and fees of BOA, I withdrew my funds from that bank and joined a local credit union. I am much happier!

Perhaps BOA should consider changing their policy on overdrafts. The banks I was with before them always returned a check that was higher than the customer's balance so that smaller checks and purchases can clear. Then the customer can pay for the bounced check when the next payroll check clears. I think that is what Lori is trying to say. The abuse she is enduring in this web site is very upsetting.

Also, when I was in Bank of America's web site, I found 25 pages of fees in Adobe format. These outragous NSF fees of $34.00 is what makes a mismanaged account more unmanageable. It's like making a handicapped person more handicapped.

FINALLY, A WARNING TO ALL!!! If you become overdrawn for an ATM withdrawal from a non BOA ATM, you will be charges for 2 separate transactions; 1 for the ATM withdrawal and the other for the fee from the other bank that ownes the ATM!!!
