After surviving Katrina Homeq led me to believe that the three months of reprieve due to the storm would be placed on the back of the mortgage and they would report that this was due to Katrina. They hooked me up alright, they placed the payments over 12 months, which increased my mortgage by double.
Then, when I tried to refinance the house, to my surprise Homeq reported that I was 120 days late with no mention of Katrina. I called them and was given the complete runaround. So called managers will not call back and when they did, they had no idea what they were talking about.
It is bad enough we had to go through Katrina, but to be taken advantage of by a company (Wachovia) that is trying to set up banks in Mississipi is unreal. I have sent several complaints to the FTC and everytime, Homeq seems to respond with a worthless managment call. Please go to www.FTC. GOV and file complaints against them. I also reported them to Congressman Gene Taylor and Senator Trent Lott. Congressman Taylor has promised to forward this. These people are worse than FEMA!!!
