I too fell prey to the free CD scam! I ordered it but did not receive it as the posted (14 day) expiration time for cancellation approached so I called and complained AND cancelled.
A couple days later I received the CD and the membership leaflet and a few days after that got nailed for a $49.95 charge on my account which was only supposed to be used to cover the S/H for the CD.
I called the number provided on the leaflet 1-877-286-7159 and went off on the rep explaining the scenario. I was replied to with - "You never cancelled, you waited too long to report as it was over 14 days since CD was ordered" to which I replied very strongly he was incorrect. I was put on hold for awhile and when the rep returned, he proceeded to explain that I was sent an email with all of the log-in and cancellation policies clearly defined which was a blatent lie!
I was told the issue was escalated to a supervisor for approval of the refund after alot of argueing and that I could expect the refund in 10 - 15 working days. That was over 20 days ago and still no refund. I have contacted my bank and disputed the charge as unauthorized and initiated a "charge-back". I am now waiting for results.
This company is a SCAM from the get-go!
