Ripoff put another persons debt in my credit report person has similar name but spelled way different

I recently checked my credit report and found wachovia saying that i opened an account with them in 1998 and owed them $664 i never owed them anything but they still refuse to remove it from my report after several attempts of disputing it. That mark is on my credit report scaring me and my family from getting the car that i need.
