Ripoff overdraft fees stealing lying rude

Wells Fargo's overdraft fees are there way of stealing. My mom died last june and I had to move to a different city in the Salt Lake Valley. My father is disabled, going through major depression cause of my mom and he cannot get work bacause of his condition. We cannot put him on disability because I guess we need doctors appointments and lawyers to do that and we can't afford it.

Last August my father and I opened a checking account account at wells fargo. The guy also said that it would open a savings account with it and would transfer $25 every month to the savings. That savings account would also act as overdraft protection. We rented a Uhaul to help with our move and I used my new Wells Fargo Check Card. I checked the internet that night and the Uhaul charge was there. Two days later I checked the net after I made a deposit and the Uhaul charge was gone. The next day, about 3pm, my deposit showed as pending (even though I deposited that money at 10am the previous day) and the Uhaul charge came back again and put me -$5. The over draft protection from my savings account kicked in the $5 but charged me $10. So it had to pull $10 out the next time to cover the fee. There goes my $25. I called and about an hour later with 2 different managers I got it resolved.

A couple of months later I put in my paycheck in on a Wed. About 4pm. This check was a lot more than usual because I get paid on my volume of work and we had a lot those weeks. Between the next day and that Monday I wrote 3 checks and my father used the card 4 times. The Tuesday I look on the internet I had 7 Overdraft fees and 3 Check reversal fees. I talked to the bank and they said that because my deposit was almost double what I normally put in, they had to hold it 3 business days. Bull*! So after a few hours on the phone they reversed 4 overdraft fees. Keeping in mind I still owed the 3 times $30 check return fee to the merchant.

About a month later I deposited a check at 9am in the morning. The next day I went to get gas and my card did not work. I rushed home and found on the internet again that my check still did not go through and yet another one of my purchases last week just came through and my account was overdrawn once again. But my card did not work. Keep that in mind. I asked why my check did not go through and they said cause I've had 4 or more overdrawns in the last year that all checks are held at least 1 business day. This time instead of reversing the charge they just put the check through. Of course, they want there $33.

A couple of weeks ago I deposited a paycheck again. I had to go out of town for business and I told my dad that he had so much money to spend till I get paid on the 5th. Well apparently he went over last friday and didn't know it. I'm out of town so I can't check it and he has dial-up so it takes him 43min for the page to load. Then it crashes. Well once again this past weekend all these previous charges from the last week start pouring in and we were in the negative $800. I came back on Tuesday and put may paycheck in. I rushed to work and couldn't check anything at the moment. I wrote 3 checks that night and my father still used the card until thursday. Wed. Night I got our mail and found a letter from Wells Fargo that says we either paid or returned the following items. Of course they paid all of it and want $400 in fees. Plus all the charges my pacheck didn't cover any of it and now were in the hole $230. I spent all day Thursday at my work, at the risk of getting fired, talking to Wells Fargo employees. I first called my branch and asked to speak with a manager and he said he was one. Find out 30min later he's not and he went and got the Assistant manager. He kept saying that I must of known I was overdrawn if I deposited money on Tue. Like I have a stash of money laying around that I can just deposit when I want. Even if I did, Don't you think I would put in enough to put me in the positive? He was very rude and I asked to speak to his boss. His boss was gone and he gave me the number to his regional boss.

Of course it was the wrong number and I had to track down the number. I talked to a regional manager and this guy was a pr*. When he answered he sighed like he knew I was going to call. I wonder why I got the wrong number? He called me an idiot for not keeping track of our account which we did. Then he said it's not his f* problem. I asked to speak to his manager and he hung up. I called back and got a different regional guy and he said he would reverse the overdraft fees enough so that we were not in the negative. He never did.

Now today my 3 other checks came through along with a shopping bill that happened on sunday. Now I'm in the hole $400 and the fees are close to $700 in overdraft.

We've had check cards with other banks that were mastercard and visa. They always come straight out of your account and if you didn't have the money the card didn't work. Yet my card still works after being $400 in the hole. We were able to use our card a week after the initial problem. Then they are still clearing checks. One of the other postings similiar to this said I'd rather have a check bounce and the card not work than to pay them $33.

In the mean time Wells Fargo is calling me every 3 minutes wondering if I can bring the account current. I can't right now and because it's been slow lately my check won't even put me back in the positive on the 20th. They keep charging me a daily fee until I do. I need some help figuring out what to do.
