Unfair & unethical Overdraft Process National

National City has many unfair and unethical practices which lead to robbing their customers with unfair overdraft fees. First of all, they deduct from your balance immediately for any pending charges and/or checks (even before they have sent the money). Next, they hold deposited money until the next day, even though they have the check in hand. While I understand that this deposit process is similar to most banks, it alone is an unfair practice.

Beyond the facts stated above, National City has programmed their processing system to take the smallest charges last, therefore creating the highest number of overdraft fees as possible.

I recently had an insurance company take out money sooner then they were supposed to which led to my discovery of these unfair practices. As soon as I saw the transaction was pending I went in and made a deposit. That evening when they processed everything they took out the large charges first, then all the small ones, and then processed my deposit (but before doing that they took out 5 overdraft charges for my 5 smallest transactions that took me into a negative balance). When I tried to contact the bank to request that they only charge me one overdraft fee they denied my request.

Their programming method ROBS National City customers and is 100% unfair and unethical, and when I'm done I hope it will be illegal as well. Since they were not willing to work with me on this I will handle it another way.
