Complaint / Review
Town And Country Credit - Ameriquest
Ripoff, high pressure sales, unethical

I want to thank this web site, and sorry to all the people that got taken by Ameriquest, and Town and Country Credit. Due to this web site I was well informed in an overwhelming choice I had to make.

Fortunately due to your reports I was able to turn down the loan I was seeking, which was, I might add, way overpriced for what I was looking for in the beginning.

Due to medical issues, my credit score has suffered, and I could not get a decent, fair priced loan. Funny, I went from a risk in the lending business, requesting a small loan, but instantly became approved by Town and Country for a large loan. Much more than I was seeking.

My home, which has no mortgage, was to be the collateral for the loan. When I inquired about mortgage insurance, I was discouraged by the agent, which I thought was a prudent move on my behalf, those health issues.

Something wasn't right, he would call at odd hours, and almost nightly to see if I was still on the line for the loan while we waited for the appraisal.

Asking very personal questions to see where my thinking was, any reluctance on my behalf was focused on instantly.

His concern and care were apparently there to assure him that I stayed with the loan process, it was very invasive as if he was making sure nothing could spoil the loan.

More red flags went up, that's when I found your web site. Almost every complaint logged here were the steps he enacted to secure my loan commitment.

From ill timed closings, late at night, that nine P.M. Moment, with only a notary present, when I asked why I didn't come to an office during business hours to close, I was given some nonsense story about where I live, and the need to expedite this loan.

I questioned my loan document the one I had received in the mail, and was told that it wouldn't be the same document when I did sign.

Hence, no opportunity to review this with an attorney, or anyone who may have had my best interest at heart.

Now the appraisal, I know what my home and the market value is in my area. A full week after the promised appraisal, I was told the appraiser was unprofessional and delinquent in gathering his information.

It became a guessing game of how much is my home worth. The agent for Town and Country guesses were inflated, and I stated this to him.

Weeks drug by, the calls continued, and was finally told by the agent they wanted to send a notary to my home the next evening, about nine.

The appraisal had still had not materialized, the agent stated, not a problem, we'll just fill in the blanks concerning your homes value after you have signed the paperwork.

Your web site not only saved me, but offered me the dialogue to question what he was he doing, such as, wouldn't an inflated appraisal hamper me down the road on refinancing this loan? He didn't like that one.

Also I contacted the appraisal company, and told the appraiser the sequence of events. He was quite upset as he had delivered the appraisal to their office days after seeing my home, not weeks.

His indicated appraisal was fair, not close to what the agent wanted to supplement himself on the documents after closing.

He also stated his appraisal company were going to drop Town and Country from their list of clients. They will not be involved in false document reporting of any kind. Yeah!

I can only end with sincere thanks to all who have posted here. You saved me from a very big mistake, one I would have paid for the rest of my life.

Thank you usacomplaints.com.Com hope someone else will be helped from my post.
