Ripoff Treats good customers that pay every time bad. Closed account after giving increase and after 1.5 years of good account standing

This is an alert to all cardmembers and possible cardmembers to please be careful with this company. I have been with them for 1.5 years follwoing a bankruptcy that my former spouse pushed my family into. Since then I have rebuilt my credit very well. I was with this company 1.5 years with a shining payment record, never late and received a few increases on my credit line. All of a sudden in Jan they accepted my payment (before the due date and not late) and posted my new statement just to turn around and close my account without cause. When I called to ask why they stated they could not tell me why. I even had a supervisor review my account history and payments and she found nothing bad. She said noone had any information there about why it was closed but that it was closed by the company. She did mention that another department handled that stuff. I asked to speak to that department to find out why. Thats where it got even wierder. She told me they were not there then. When I called a rep. Right after they told me that department doesn't have a phone line into it.

So I tested further and was told the following by other supervisors and reps.: "Everyone in that department is off for a couple weeks. Please call back then, " "We closed your account and dont have to tell you why, " (shocking cutomer service), "Your are in deafult but we dont have a reason and that department cannot help you, " and the list goes on... I called about 12 times to see how many different responses I could generate on my voice recorder and then send to the FBI, BBB, and FTC. I am not one of these people that paid late or ever went over my credit limit or such, but I was teated like one of those people. I did explain that I have now a capital one account and a chase account with 0% APR for now and a low APR after June.

The fact of the matter is that this company that is already uner investigation by the FBI for bad business practices against its customers is pulling this crap. They cannot give me a verbal or written reason why it was closed. Hmm. That's very strange. So. I have struck back by recording my conversations with them and sending copies to these investigation organizations. Also, I have implemented an auto-dialer program for their 1800 number that dials their number and gets a rep on the line each time by bypassing thier automated system thus costing them on average about $3-$5 per call since a rep. Is picking up. I can fight fire with fire. I fully intend on paying off my balance and have already agreed (recorded also with supervisors name and control number) that when this account is paid in full that I will not be charged any further monthly annual and finance charges as I will be done with the company. I spent the money so I will pay it.

I just want people to be aware that this company uses this dirty tactic to try and hurt you, hoping you'll get so mad that you will not pay the balance and get overage fees. I have paid off my balances many times and they didn't make a lot of money off me because I was such a good paying customer. Be careful people because they will find any way to screw you. Be smart and think logically and they cannot collect anything extra. I plan to update my add here after this is paid in full and let everyone know if I have to sue them for vioilation of contract if they continue to charge me after I pay it off. If you can get a better card that actually cares about its cardmembers and be careful about this company. I did find it sooooo funny today that I got a pre-approved application in the mail for the same card and company... Haha... I wasn't boprn yesterday. This comapn y is 2 fires short of a happy meal. Best of luck to all.
