This company is something else. My husband got a Credit card through cross country. It started with a service of some kind that was offered for a month free and than if you did not wan the service just call and they would not charge you. Well we told them we were not interested. We were billed anyway for this so called service. So we called and they said it was taken care of.
Well it was not. Some how than we had a late fee. We had paid the bill on time, but they said it was late and we had not included the amount for this extra service we never ordered. So we called again (long distance mind you) and were told the late fee and service charges would be taken off and to ignore them on our next statement. Everything was fine for a little while.
We were agin billed for a service we did not order through this company. We had to call I do not know how many times. We than were told after another late fee to send it in writting that we did not want this so called service we ordered. Some now through all this we kept getting late fees even though on many occasions I payed the bill upto 2 weeks early.
So than we tried using their phone pay system, still they kept saying we owed them money and late fees. All this brought our card than over the limit. So I finally got fed up and paid off the entire balance. We than did not get any statements for a very long time. Even though we had called asking for them many times (more long distance charges)
Than the phone calls started. Now after paying off the entire bal we had not even used the card for months. But they kept calling saying we owed money, for mebership fees and late charges. This went on for awhile. So again we paid the amount in full and than closed the account. This happen two times.
We have not heard from them in months until March 13 When my bank notified me of an over the limit fee. I could not understand this because I am extremly careful with the bills and and my checking account. So I called my bank to find out what was going on.
Well Cross country bank took out an auto matic payment for $75.00. I was so confused. This account was closed. I called my husband and asked him about it and he was just as comfused as I was. I called Cross country bank and asked them why they took money from my bank unauthorized, and how this was even possible since we had closed the account. The man told me it was an open account with a balance and they were authorized to take this payment. When I asked about the bal. He would not tell me the amount but said my husband would have to call them.
We have never gotten another staement from them and in the past had been harrassed by these people and now they have robbed my checking account claiming we gave them authorization and that we never closed this account.
Will this nightmare with this crooked company ever stop???!!!
