I was online and made the foolish mistake of using a search engine to search for an Internet payday loan that would work for me. Several pop-up windows came up on my screen. When I filled out one of them, it automatically populated all of the other fields in the other windows as well. USA Platinum was one of those pop-up windows. The only problem is that they are NOT a payday loan provider, and have themselves linked to a search engine that searches for payday loan providers! The pop-up window said NOTHING about credit card, line of credit... Nothing. As soon as I hit enter it took my info, and sent me a "welcome" email. I IMMEDIATELY called the 800# in the email, only to be put on hold for TWENTY MINUTES! I sent two emails to two separate email addresses ([email protected] and usaplatinumnewaccounts@ usacdt.com) and they DID NOT reply! I called the number two more times, and was on hold for twenty minutes each time! I immediately called my bank and put a stop-payment on the amount they said they would be taking. However, Platinum USA used a slightly different name so the stop payment didn't hold!
I finally got a hold of someone at this company who advised me that I waited too long to contact them and the draft went through and they couldn't help me. I advised the lady that nobody replied to my emails and I couldn't get a human on the phone. I also advised her that I have record that I attempted to contact them immediately after they pulled their scam. She told me that there was nothing she could do other than cancel my membership, and that if I wanted a refund, I had to wait 2-3 weeks! I told her that I was disputing this through my bank and forwarding them all of the info that I have... including the reports of several other people on the Internet that have been ripped off!
