Fifth third has been reported to this site, as well as the attorney general in several states. They will resort to such tactics as "floating" checks, debit charges, and deposit to cause an overdraft, allowing them to charge outrageous fees to your account. I have had cash deposits floated for as much as 3-4 days, checks and/or debit charges floated for as much as 2-3 days, deposits floated until after a check/debit which resulted in insufficient funds. Upon contacting them, they refused to correct the errors and refund fees, (but did apologize).
In one case, I had a cash deposit, and a debit 12 hours later, my deposit was floated until after my debit was posted, and I was charged overdraft fees. I WILL be closing ALL accounts with them immediately, including a business account for my LLC company. So far I have not been able to have these bogus charges corrected, or collect the bogus fees they have stolen from me. I also have a couple friends who are having similar problems, and will be closing their accounts at that bank and going to a different bank, one where they will not use any means possible to rip you off!!
