I got a call from a woman today, claiming to be from the marketing department of Bank of America in Chaplian, New York. She had an accent which I at first thought was Austrian, but which could've been Indian. Anyway, she offered me a "Golden Card" with a 0 APR, 0 annual fee, and credit line of $20,000; in addition to a new Gateway computer, a new cell phone, some grocery coupons, and an airline trip. She called up my home asking for someone named Betty, telling me my phone number had been given to the Bank of America by "Federal Agencies" in order to spread this promotion, and extend credit and good will to people. Never mind that my credit is terrible, and that she was offering me a credit line without even a credit check!
I grilled this lady hard, and she told me I could verify the authenticity of her claims by calling their "customer service line" at 1-877-736 —that is to say, I could verify her authenticity after providing her my name, bank account number, and mailing address. After I got off the call, I ran *69 on her number, and got the following 480-776-0073 as the caller's origin.
These people are disgusting, while on the phone and suspecting it was a scam, I asked her to swear to me on her soul that she was telling the truth; I pointed out —to her agreement— that she would have to be evil to the core to be fabricating this story and trying to defraud people. These people don't fear God, don't fear Judgement Day, don't fear anything.
Tomorrow, during business hours I will file a compaint with Bank Of America's criminal matters, unit, and with the Federal Trade Commission, and any other relavent agency I can think of. I hope these criminals pay for what they're doing to people!
