My husband and I purchased our first home with an 80/20 loan in October and prior to making our first payment, the 20 loan was sold to Homecomings, which has been absolutely horrible. We have finally gotten our account straightened out, our credit report fixed and our final bill from our attorney or so we think.
The last 10 months have been complete hell. First, Homecomings changed the due date and terms of our loan. Then they kept reporting that we were late even though they were made aware of the discrepancy and said that they would reconcile the account and not report anything to the credit bureaus in the meantime - what a joke!
They even went so far as to order a broker price opinion on our house, in order to start the foreclosure process even though we were paying the amount per our Truth in Lending statement and the papers we signed at closing. We were never made aware of this and the fee still does not show on our paper statement, however it shows on the web.
I would never ever want to work with Homecomings again and am looking to refinance, just so that I can be rid of them once and for all. My documenation on the corrections is over 2 inches thick. I wrote down who I talked ot and when, only to be told that they don't have anyone there by that name or there is no record of that phone call.
My attorney spent hours trying to find the right person to speak with and finally threatened a law suit before we saw any changes. I hope to goodness a class action is filed, so that all of us who have been troubled with their poor excuse of a company can get our day!
