Me too, wish I found this site earlier ripoff

It started out with a late payment. I then sent in a payment and a half the next two months to compensate. They didn't apply my payments to either my current bill or even to my late bill, they applied it to the principle. It wasn't for a few months that I realized it because statements were only sent out every three months.

So now I was really behind and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Then I started getting notices. I was making payments, but now since I was technically 'late' for three months, it was really hard to catch up.

I was given one option. They could do a 'special' tack it on to the end of the mortgage, forebearance or something. Wasn't sure what that was, but in desperation, it sounded good. It got me up to date, or so I thought.

Didn't yet have a computer so there was no way for me to research.

Then my next statement came in that I had some enormous 'administrative fee' added to my account. Something they failed to tell me about. Now I had that to pay.

Then started the insurance notices. I sent them a copy of my Allstate insurance policy which time and time again, they kept saying it was never received. So now they added on an insurance premium.

I never enlisted any help from anybody because it was embarrassing.

I get a notice that they were starting foreclosure procedures. I filed chapter 13. I started making payments on my chapter 13, plus all my regular payments. Then they started flooding me with all of these 'due on receipt' notices, the insurance premium, the administrative fees, etc; after two months, forclosure notice once again.

Then they started putting things on my door. Yeah, for all the neighbors to see.

I spoke to my lawyer. I was so twisted up on this. I just wanted out. Considered bk7. He says to wait until the last minute to file. I get a notice from them that sheriff's sale was to happen on such-and-such a date, which was a Thursday. I already paid my lawyer for the filing fees, so he was only waiting on the go-ahead.

His office was near my work. It was a Tuesday (Feb14th to be exact), I walked in to the office. The girl behind the desk's face turned white. "Kim, sherrif's sales always happen on Tuesday. It was already sold" I already understood the consequences of filing, just didn't think I was gonna lose it that day.

I showed her the letter I got, it had the wrong date on it. Converted to bk7 that day to buy some time.

Came home to find a '24 hour notice to vacate' on my front door. Had my lawyer handle that.

I wish I would have know about all of this before with them.
