I think I see where others have had a similar scam from GMAC.
They bought my loan, then did not send any notice until they sent a "default notice" for payments not received. 2 payments remain in "limbo" - old mortgage company reports they were forwarded to GMAC, GMAC reports not receiving them. They reported mortgage "late payments" starting in under 30 days from the the transfer (illegal) and continue to report them monthly even though we continue to make payments per our original loan agreement.
Also, we had arrangement to pay homeowner's insurance through escrow. They did not make payments, insurance was cancelled (and for discount we had policy of second home that was also canceled for non payment). Notices of non-payment were sent to GMAC directly and we never found out until it was all over. They then instituted "forced insurance" for just the amount of the loan (much less than I had) for 3 times the premium. I fixed the insurance, but they wont refund entire period of forced insurance because it was uninsured for 4 months - their fault, AND my second home, in Galveston (storm insurance too) I can no longer get coverage for from any of the usual providers because it is currently vacant. Not a problem so long as I kept my insurance current but the cancellation has now screwed up everything. Also, the re-insurance was still at a higher rate than I had before - costing me thousands because of their errors and they still show me 2 months behind.
