I have used Bank of America for the past 15 years. I have often been unpleased with the organization, but I have so many direct deposits and withdrawals, I've always decided just to tough it out.
According to the mountains of junk mail I receive from BofA regularly, I am considered one of their most valuable customers — blah, blah, blah.
So — imagine my surprise today when I opened a notice from them (July 14) that, because of electronic debits that exceeded my July 7 balance by $31.77, they were automatically deducting an insufficient funds fee of $62 on July 8.
Hmmmmmmmmm — I'm not a math whiz, but isn't that about a 200% charge?
And, didn't I read something in the papers in the recent past about banks being sued because outrageous overdraft charges?
Well, where do I sign up?
