Bank Of America (BOA)
Overdrafts & insuffcient funds. Bank of America is ripping off the consumer and hitting way below the belt

Why is the average consumer being targeted by Bank of America (BOA)???

I check my checking account activity every day on line through BANKOFAMERICA.com!
But yet, I have been informed that the balance that is showing on line is not my correct balance.

How can this be? Well according to the very unintelligent, unfriendly, bitter customer service rep at my hometown Bank of America in Titusville, Florida. (If you want her name E-mail me and I will be happy to give you it. I also have a recording on my cell phone how un-customer service-ly she was.)
They started this in "March, of 2008." And We (I) "should be keeping a register of all my charges going out". Because as soon as charges go through, they are being deducted from my account. Yep! Even the ones on hold. But we can't see this!

Even though it is not showing red, (negative), on my online account information. Nor at an ATM machine. I can be in the red. And get hit with numerous $35.00 fees. And, I do not even know this. Nor do I have enough time to run to the bank and deposit, or transfer money, into my checking account to prevent any fees for insufficient charges applying. According to the Bank Rep.

Now the UHMM—hmmm— Customer service rep pulled up a screen that showed all this to me.
I asked "How come I do not have access to this screen?"
She replied "I don't know."
"Will I be able to view this on line?"
"No, not yet, no... I don't know..." was her answer (intelligent answer!)
"Well!" I said "Don't you think this is unfair to the consumer? That we are being charged for overdraft fees and we don't even know?" "Isn't that hitting below the belt?"
She answered me quite snotty-"We have been doing this since March, notices went out both in the mail and on line." As though that answer rectified all the wrong. "You should be keeping a register."

Well I never saw a notice. But I do miss the small print now and again. I'm sure we all do. The conversation lag on with a lot of "I don't knows." from her. She could not seem to give me a straight answer on any one thing I questioned her about. Except that I should be keeping a register. Which i Find hard to do. Being that a few others are acessing my account. And quite honestly why do I have to? I have access to all my information on my accounts on line, Right???

There was also another question I posed to her;
Say if I was accidentally charged an incorrect amount on my debit card and it was voided that same day? Would BOA be holding those funds? (Because, sometimes the void goes through offline. So the funds are still being held. But, the void will not show up until the next day, or maybe 2 days. Until the business's credit card machine was batched out.)

She informed me that that it would not happen. And just then I noticed on my statement that SHE HAD COPIED AND GIVEN ME. You know the one from the screen that we can't view. Only the bank employees can see this one. That there was a charge on hold 1 day, then it was gone the next day. But yet I was charges 5, yep FIVE overdraft fees $35.00 each, because of this hold. Mind you on my end it was saying I had $355.00 in my account. Funny! Didn't she just say that this would never happen? LMAO. Her Intelligent come back was "wow, I have been banking for 10 years and never seen that happen!"
"But I just thought you said BOA started this in march?" I asked. She Ignored me. She either had snotty unintelligent answers, or ignored me.
Like, "Why can you just deny my card for the $2.00 coffee?" I asked
"Well we feel that if you have and emergency & you need the extra funds its there for you. We only let it go for a few hundred dollars." Was her answer.
Why do you take from the bigger amount and let the 10 little amounts overdraft?" I asked.
Say if you have $499.00 in you account and your mortgage payment for $500 comes in we will let that go first because this is the more important one to you. Her answer. Blah blah blah.

Yes I do live pay check to pay check. It is hard not to these days. And it seem so unfair that our bank feels the need to screw us out our hard earned money. I plan on leaving. And am in the process of doing so. But in the mean time something needs to be done. Someone has to put a stop to this. Charging $35.00 for overdraft fees? Each? And we can not even see that we are negative on our account. Where is the justice??? Even the bitchy bank reps don't have the answers as to why this being done. Maybe that is why they are so bitchy in the first place. Hmmmmm

I hate bank of america.

Insufficient funds bank of America you are rude and hitting way, way below the belt.
