UCB Does not follow the collection laws ripoff

I recently started to receive phone calls, everyday from UCB. They are not calling on a collection of debt for me but rather for my husband. Since they refused to except that I did not want to get involved since according to the FTC, I am a 3rd party I verbally disputed this debt and asked for a validation of the debt to be sent to me. I was told that I could not dispute this debt verbally or in writing but that since I was irresponsible I best just pay it or they would sue me for the money.

I called the BBB and the FTC and made a complaint against the company for idle threats, failing to take a verbal dispute (which is in my states CARA laws and part of the Federal), and refuse to stop calling even after I have repeatedly sent them a cease and assist letter. I found that my husband has never spoke with any person with this company and never received anything in writing within 5 days after initial contact was made with me, or for that matter he has never received anything.

We found their address and sent out a dispute letter, cease and assist with the phone calls and threats, and have gotten to the point where the 8am phone calls are becoming abusive, harassing, and threatening.
I am not one for having intimidation work for getting me to pay a debt regardless if it is legit or not.

So far this company has rejected all attempts made by the FTC and the BBB to resolve this matter with the complaints that I have sent, and they are still refusing to send a validation of debt letter to my home, po box, or any address that I have access to.

Without having to spend an arm and a leg on a lawyer to have this removed from my husbands credit report, stop the calls after the cease and assist, and have the idle threats stop what are my options?

It is illegal to call someone after you have asked them not to in writing, make idle threats of suing for debts if there is no real intent to sue, and intimidating actions are not permitted by law. How do you stop these renegade collectors?

Just a warning to anyone who may have a question about this company, do not let them intimidate you into paying any debt. They may be charging you for fees that are not to be paid by a consumer. It is against the law to collect for collection fee's or interest on an account or other fees that may be imposed by a collection agency or fees that are not stated on your contract/agreement that you signed when obtaining whatever it is you owe for.

I have no idea what the fees or debt may be since I have yet to receive notice one of debt and this has gone on for 3 months, well they have been telling me my husbands business for 3 months and we have not been married for 3 months, so technically even if a spouse were not considered a third person party they still broke the law in the beginning.

Has anyone else had a problem with UCB? Are there any class action suits against this company? Pending? Wanted?
