On 20 Dec 01, I was contacted by Capital One and offered a credit card. I listened to their sales pitch and at the point where they finally tell you there is a yearly fee I stated that I DID NOT want the card due to the fee. The person was not happy but I assumed they deleted the information. I now am being billed for this new credit card. I have written a letter to Capital One informing them I never wanted this nor do I appreciate being billed or having a credit check done on me without my permission. I am also sending a complaint to the better business bureau and State Attorney General's office. Wonder if there are other victims out there? I did call the customer #, but was only able to speak to a live person once, she said that the people that sell are telemarketers that are contracted out and Capital One is not responsible for their actions. This person also said she would close my account and did not. This happended in Jan when I received the first statement.
