I applied for a Capital One Visa card. I received a letter of decline. So I order a copy of my Credit Report and all of the sudden I have a letter from Capital Choice saying that I am qualified for credit.
I was confused and I called Capital Choice wanted to find out if I was the actual person who applied for the credit card (or if it was identy theft) sure enough, they have my new phone number (which was recently changed and private) I only gave it out to Capital One on my application, so it LOOKED like it was the visa card I applied for with Capital One, since they have all my private information. The Capital Choice application requires a $39 fee. I wrote a check out.
But weeks passed and nothing came. I tried to look for capital choice consumer credit on the web but found nothing. I did, however came across a report of an angry customer stating that Capital Choice is not a Visa or Master Card like the Customer rep had led them to be, but it is only a card to purchase from a catelog. So I immediately stopped payment to my $39 check. They on the other hand voided the check and processed the $39 electronicly.
