They called me, told me that because I had recently applied for credit somewhere (I had - I bought a car a couple weeks ago) and that I had once applied for a credit card, they had a pre-approved credit card for me.
The terms sounded to good to be true, and I was more and more nervous, as they asked me for things like SSN, bank routing numbers, etc.
I am an idiot. I fell for it, but right after hanging up, to ease my mind, went to Google, and found a usacomplaints.com about this company.
Immedietly called them back, and clarified with Customer Service that even though I had been told, by two different people (A validation person, and a sales person, I guess) that the card was 'unsecured' it was in fact, a secured credit card.
Also, that there were no cancellations. I informed the customer service person that in the cases of Fraud - there are in fact, cancellations, because the contract is void.
She said she could not help me... Because I wasn't "in the system" yet. Yeah, right. I've been humiliated with this scam, but I'm not giving them one red cent for a secured credit card they sold me as secured. I just hope I can get my checking account closed fast enough.
