I have been a Bank of America account holder since 1985. My bank account and credit cards have always been in good standing and I have always used Bank of America as my primary bank account. This includes automatic deposits, etc. I learned that one of my credit cards (MC) was switching to Barclay bank. Since I have always been a fan (until now) of B of A, I called B of A customer service to see how I could keep B of A as my credit card account. I informed them that I had freezes on my credit agencies due to SC ID fraud issues. They told me the best thing to do is close the account that was being transfered to Barclay bank and open a new one with them. So I said ok and they closed my credit card account and made me go through another credit application (you would think they could just look at my 28 year history with them to determine if I am a credit risk...). Anyway, after they took all my info they said, well we will have to let you know in the mail. What a slap in the face! I have excellent credit and this is what I get, I'm pretty sure that they couldn't get any info from credit agencies but I told them and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I told them, OK just give me my old card back and I will let it switch over to Barkley, Oh no we can't do that you will have to fill out another application. What? Are you kidding??? We B of A and "Carl O from West Virginia" (the so called Credit Supervisor). You just lost a great customer with lots a $ potential for your future business. So good luck! And Good Riddance!
