On yesterday 14 March I took my 1997 Dodge Dakota to Sears Auto Center in Albany, Ga for a battery gauge reading 11 Volts. The battery had built up corrosion and appeared to be leaking battery acid but the technician said it was the alternator. I was charged $253 to change the alternator and when I went to pick it up I found the gauge was still reading 11 volts. After paying over $250 I had the same issue. If the tech would have changed the battery first I don't think my truck would of had to spend the night in sears auto center. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of professionalism from this center. The battery was still corroded and leaking with no change at all. I would like my old alternator back on as well as a new battery to see if that fix the problem. Not pleased with this service center.
