Late September I had some unexpected medical bills come due. I needed cash so I tried Preferred Cash Loans. They gave me a loan of $300 and the finance charge of $90 was to be deducted on my paydays bi-weekly. Everything was fine until just before Thanksgiving.
My regular payment was due on 11/19/04. They debited the $90 that was authorized. Then on 11/24/04 I noticed they had debited another $90 which was not authorized. I called to find out why.
The first person I spoke with told me I would have to fax a copy of my bank statement showing the debit on the 19th and the 24th. Then I called back 3 hours later, was told by a rude witch that it takes up to 6 hours for them to get the fax to call back later and slammed the phone down. Yeah right. I waited another 2 hours then called back. The rep I got a hold of said I would have to fax another copy of my bank statement showing the error. She said the reason for the extra debit was because the 19th payment was returned NSF which was not true. I have my bank statement with both debits on it and the tracking numbers, but they won't credit back the $90.
Now they won't even speak to me about the mess. I have contacted the Nevada BBB and NYS Attorney General about the matter.
Please do not even consider these crooks if you need a loan. They debit more than what they are entitled to and you won't get it back.
