This bank rips off their customers by not explaining their policies to you when you open your account.
First off, after you are taken for over draft fees of $34.00 for what they consider a over draft, you will soon realize that they do not work as any other bank does. The famous answer is always the same. Don't spend money you do not have available.
Available balance is the key words to discribe how this bank works. If you make a purchase on your debit card, (even though you choose the credit side instead of debit with a pin number), and you immediately go to your local branch and deposit say $200.00 into your account more than what you just purchased, this bank will show your deposit after the transaction made on the debit card. This will cost you $34.00 for each transaction made than your deposit will post minus the fees for over draft.
Here is wear US Bank really makes the over draft fees on you. The weekend! It does not matter what time of the day you deposit your pay check on Friday, this bank is not going to clear that deposit until Tuesday. They know you do not know that. So as a result, every single transaction you make on the weekend is going to cost you the over draft fee.
This bank really does mean it when they say if you do not have the money in your account, within the available balance, not the account balance collumn, than you are going to get ripped off the over draft fees.
Hate to have to say this, but that goes for cash deposits or account transfers, (which is a cash transfer), also. They will post it after you most recent debit transaction, or they simply post it for the next business day. They will get that over draft fee from you.
Remember, if you deposit on Friday, (no matter what time in the day you do your deposit), the money is not going to be available to you until the following Tuesday.
Now are they not the bank that thinks so much of you?!
