I got the Ulta ad in the Sunday paper. On the front it advertises a bareMinerals Pure Sweetness Kit free with ANY $40 purchase. Since I needed several cosmetic items, I thought I would go in (Store #189) because I knew I would spend more than $40 and I could get my free bareMinerals gift. I took my items to the counter, along with the bareMinerals kit, and was told that it's only free if you spend $40 in bareMineral products. I informed the cashier that the ad didn't indicate that & neither did the sign in the store. She basically told me that's too bad and that I couldn't have it. I told her it was false advertisement & she should give it to me since that's what they are clearly advertising (in the ad & on the store sign, right next to the bareMinerals kits). I called the toll free customer service phone number the next day and was told that it was a misprint and that they couldn't honor it. She did, however, tell me she would send me a $15 gift card for my inconvenience. Since the bareMinerals kit has a $45 value, they should send me a $45 gift card, not a $15 gift card. What I don't understand, if it's a misprint, why hasn't it been corrected in their online ad, or on a sign in their stores. They have lost a loyal, high spending customer, since they won't back up their ad, or make it right in another way. What they are doing is illegal, and is called bait and switch advertising.
