After my 2 yr. Contract expired, my bill jumped about $30 - not unexpected - just too much. A year ago, after my first year of the new customer rates ending, I was able to get enough discounts that it wasn't worth changing over to Dish. Well, now it is worth it and Directv did want to discuss discounts but I told them that unless it would amount to more than $45.00 in discounts - forget it... Never got that far because they told me they aren't going to honor the "Movie Money Certificate" they sent me as it would take 2 billing periods and since I'll be cancelling this week... Well I'm SOL! Really? I receive the cert while I was a subscriber and I watched a movie while I was a subscriber - so they aren't honoring it because it takes 2 billing cycles??? I told them to shove any possibility of cinvincing me to stay with them.
