I signed up for my car insurance in March. When I went to the DMV, they told me the VIN on my truck was wrong and to call my insurance company and have them fax the DMV my insurance papers with the right VIN. That is when my problem began. They did fax the papers with the right VIN, but they also put it back in their system to stay the same.
Five months later the DMV sent me a letter saying I have no car insurance. I went online to fix the problem and found that I had no insurance, but where has my money gone? You are sending me a bill once a month and I am paying it, but I have no insurance.
I called to get things worked out. The lady I spoke to said, "Oh, you have insurance, we just made a little mistake. We will take care of things and get back to you in 72 hours and everything will be OK." Five days later there was still no call, so I called back. Then they said, "Oh, it was your fault." They said it was my fault I had no insurance on both of my cars. I told him I think not. I am not paying for someone else's car insurance and none for myself?
Three days after that I got a letter from the DMV saying I have to pay $250.00 to drive my truck on the street because it has no insurance, and I have to prove to them that I have it. So now not only am I paying car insurance for someone else, I have to pay to drive my own truck on the street?
I called back, and this time I spoke to a young man. He said, "Oh, I'm going to take care of this matter for you myself, don't you worry about it." I left town, not thinking about it, and my phone rang. It was Allstate calling for a courtesy call. Not only did the young man curse at me, he moved me from the state I was living in to New York. Yes, I have been there, but I know of no addresses out there. While I was on vacation I had to go to the hospital 3 times because of my blood pressure and seizures, so no, I did not have a good time on the vacation.
I got home and called, and now I have to wait another 72 hours for the home office to get back to me. My 100 dollar question is: how and when do I get my money's worth?
