I became a member of the Allstate Motor Club back in November. I paid $1 for 2 months before I paid $15 a month from January until early March. A couple of months ago, after crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in Virginia, our alternator gave out almost immediately after we got across.
It was a Monday morning around 2 am. I called what was supposed to be 24/7 roadside assistance for a tow, and all I got when calling the number was that the office was closed and to try my call during office hours.
My fiancee, being Navy, had to work THAT day at 7 am, so we called our insurance company, which took a little longer than Allstate was SUPPOSED to.
I was so unhappy with this that I called and canceled my membership and got a full $30 refund. Now I keep getting reinstatement letters, which is so annoying. This "auto club" is a total ripoff!
