Midland Mortgage Aka Midfirst Bank
Mother Misled on Catch-Up Amounts, Now Facing Foreclosure

This report is on behalf of my mother, who is currently with Midland Mortgage aka Midfirst Bank. My mother received her first letter from them approximately a year and a half ago, telling her she was delinquent in her payments and that they were going to foreclose on her house if they did not hear from her.

She called right away. Even though she is on a fixed income, they gave her an outrageous amount of $2100.00 to come up with by the 28th of the following month. With my help she was able to come up with this amount. When she talked with them, they told her this amount would catch her totally up. They lied. The next thing I knew, she was receiving another letter from them telling her she was so many months behind. This procedure has happened over and over again. There were times when my mother came to my house crying because the monthly mortgage payment she sent to Midland Mortgage was sent back by them, demanding a much larger amount from her. They sent her paperwork to fill out for one of their so-called programs. She would fill it out but in the meantime send another large amount of money to them, and this whole nightmare would start over again.

They failed to tell her that every time she sent this large amount of money in, it no longer made her eligible for any of their programs, and that the large amount of money she kept sending them was not catching her totally up. She still owed them another month's mortgage rent. Every time my mother or I talked to one of their representatives, they were never completely honest with us. They always said that whatever amount we needed to send them would catch her mortgage payment up, which was a total lie.

Approximately 2 months ago, my mother received papers telling her that she was 6 months behind and that they had started foreclosure proceedings on her house. This has been put in the newspaper where we live: on August 25 at 8:00 A.M. my mother's house will be sold to the highest bidder. Since this ran in the paper, people have driven by my mother's house, stopped and stared, and made her feel very humiliated.

The sad thing about all of this is that my father passed away 5 and a half years ago. He bought this house for my mother, and it has been her home for the last 12 years. This house is the only thing my mother has left from my father, and it breaks my heart to see her cry every day over the possibility of losing her home, especially to a low, disrespectful, lying, cheating company like Midland Mortgage aka Midfirst Bank. With my help, we have hired a company that can try to help us save her house one way or another. All I know is Midland Mortgage will not get my mother's house if it is the last thing I ever do.

I personally think that all of you other people who have been ripped off or treated unfairly by Midland Mortgage aka Midfirst Bank should get together and file a class action lawsuit against them for all of their fraudulent dealings, and sue them hard and make them go out of business so they can never hurt anyone else again. My heart goes out to all of you who have had to deal with a deceitful, untrustworthy, fraudulent company... Thank you very much for your time...
